Every start up would be in hurry to launch its business but what they should understand is people consider your start up as one of the business that will help them resolve their problems. Point is they don’t expect you to be start up, they feel like they should get service as if you are matured company. Nothing wrong in that !!! Atleast as customer

Before you jump into the race and hope to go the distance, you need to go through basic check are you in position to launch..

Alfa, beta is for you not for customers

Many startup especially internet start-ups consider that some of the errors might be there in their website/portal but they keep them on sidelines saying we are at BETA level. This is not to say mentioning BETA is not good idea, point is you should mention BETA and launch only when you+10(team, friends, relatives) check it right, left and centre and you find no errors in the same. Once you get zero error (logical/Technical), this would be right time to launch your project.


Monitoring your launch:

You should have proper plan/estimation with your launch, what you feel you will achieve within 1st month of your launch (In terms of visits, registrations, subscriptions, enquiries, orders etc.). At first this estimation will give you idea upfront that you are on right time to launch, do you need to revisit your plan for launch??

Later, you will be able to check it how effectively you were able to launch your start up, How far customer accepted your idea?, What is your product viral score ??


Check your pricing proper:

Be upfront with your pricing. If you are not ready with pricing and want to know how customer would be ready to pay then launch with free to use for trial period. Dont worry most of the internet products launched are for free for trial etc. If you are sure with pricing be upfront. If you don’t know little about how to price your product its fine, Go and do small survey with your product and pricing.

Once you get green signal as to pricing, launch your product.


Keep your checklist ready for critics:

Not all people going to love your start up baby, but what if they help you to built your baby more beautiful?? Some of critics may not be addressed as that may affect your business model, but some can be addressed. Once you launch keep your check list ready to jot down suggestion/critics.

If you know some of critics already but you cannot avoid it address them upfront. For eg. If free registration is compulsory to use your service and people are worried that their data might be misused or sold then say it upfront, “We don’t sell database”


You are captain and not soldier:

You need to drive people and you should have full control where user should focus on. So before launch of your website or product; focus where you want your customer to focus (may be your USP).


Copyrights and patents:

Before launching your product/website ensure that you have secured your copyright or patents and also to ensure that you are not the case of infringement of rights of some other player. In case of brand centric launch do register your trademark first, it will take to get it register but atleast you can search and apply for same withing 7-15 days.
